Desolation Angels
As the sun pounds down on the dusty old blacktop, a travelling salesmen pulls into a pub that literally is in the middle of nowhere. Inside he is told the story of a love lost and love found. He is told the story of Neal and Mary. Neal travels the broken highways and back roads of Australia in search of a life that he can never have back, along his isolated journey he finds Mary hitchhiking, unwillingly he gives her a lift. She shows him that nothing is ever what it seems, that yesterday doesn’t matter, only today. Set against a rugged backdrop, Desolation Angels is a story about disillusionment, loss, regret and the search for purpose in life. Shot on location in Toolleen, Little River and Geelong over eighteen days, the story is a road movie showing the crossroads of four characters lost within their own aimless lives and how they influence one another into believing that there is always something else.
